Michelle Battersby

Michelle is an experienced senior leader and manager with a diverse background in industrial and people related matters within large and complex global organisations. She is an experienced and trusted HR/ER advisor who builds effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels and works collaboratively with the wider team to accomplish goals and ensure continued business success.

Prior to joining Teesdale Associates, Michelle's previous experience included senior management roles in Cathay Pacific Airways Limited as South West Pacific HR and Employee Relations Manager, Global HR and Employee Relations Manager, and Senior Programme Manager (being based in Hong Kong for the last two roles) and roles in Air New Zealand as Senior Manager Cabin Crew, General Manager Operations Tandem Travel, and Global Contact Centre Manager.

Michelle's qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Social Sciences from Waikato University
• Licensed Private Investigator issued by the Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority
• ADKAR Change Management Programme
• Strategic Leadership Programme for Senior Leaders at the Institute of Strategic Leadership.

Tony Teesdale

Tony is Managing Director of Teesdale Associates and one of NZ’s leading People + Performance practitioners.

With over 30 years’ experience in the field, Tony is primarily recognised for his strategic approach and competency in business transformation, the law, strategy and practice of employment relations and highly successful outcomes in both commercial and employment negotiations. He has revolutionised the approach to employment agreement implementation through innovative design, modern communication methodologies and a unique negotiation style.

Tony is a pragmatist, adopting the view that there is always a way to achieve the objective if sufficient creativity and energy is directed to the task.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Tony held senior corporate roles with New Zealand Steel Development Stage II, Wilkins & Davies Construction and NZ Forest Products. He was staff relations adviser to the National Transition Committee for Local Government Reform in 1989 and an active participant on behalf of clients in the Waterfront Industry Reform process in the same year.

Justine O’Connell

Justine is a Director with proven experience in business restructuring, leadership development, employment agreement design, collective bargaining strategy and advocacy, performance management, management of disciplinary processes, and resolution of disputes and grievances including advocacy in the Employment Relations Authority. She provides outsourced services to a range of clients as part of their management teams.

Justine is an experienced workplace investigator. She holds a license as a Private Investigator issued by the Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority; and is a certificate holder of the American Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI).

Prior to joining Teesdale Associates 20 years ago, Justine gained experience in the public sector in the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Corrections and the BBC in London.

Justine has a Bachelor of Laws from University of Canterbury and is PRINCE2 certified in project management.

Margaret Teesdale

Margaret first joined the Company over 20 years ago.  Currently she is a director and manages the invoicing and accounts function.
